‘In the classes I always try to apply theory to clinical practice’. We find out about the academic profile of Rocío Díaz, a lecturer in the Degree in International Physiotherapy at the Campus of the UB

The lecturer and medical doctor, Rocío Díaz  forms a part of the teaching staff of the Degree in International Physiotherapy from the School of New Interactive Technologies (Escola de Noves Tecnologies Interactives – ENTI-UB) and the University School of Health and Sport (Escola Universitària de la Salut i l’Esport – EUSES-UdG). She has an academic profile based on the branch of Anatomy  and Medical Conditions; as well as being a specialist in dermatology. As for the subjects she teaches: Anatomy, Surgical medicine, Orthopaedics and Traumatology, she points out that she always tries to relate the theory to the practice so that students can learn about the real applications of each of these in the professional field.

In the first year of the Degree in International Physiotherapy, Rocío Díaz teaches the subject of Anatomy, during which the students will learn the basics of the structures and of the different tissues of the human body, relating them to each other, learning about their movements and the parts involved. Díaz considers that this material is essential for every physiotherapist in the daily exercise of their profession. Precisely for this reason, in spite of being a predominantly theoretical subject, she always attempts to incorporate the practical side into her classes, along with real examples and cases. Therefore they always do exercises with which they try to discuss the application of the theory in specific clinical cases. This latter aspect can be especially interesting for physiotherapists specialising in certain fields.

This new academic year 2016-2017, Rocío Díaz will also teach the following in the second year: Surgical medicine, Orthopaedics and Traumatology. In Surgical Medicine, she addresses the fundamentals of diseases and provides information on the different specialisations in medicine, the different pathologies and specialties. In contrast, in Orthopaedics and Traumatology the classes focus on the different types of pathologies of a traumatological condition.

In short, in the Degree in International Physiotherapy, apart from having an excellent teaching staff at your disposal, you will learn to apply new technologies in the field of physiotherapy; you will study entirely in English, a language whose mastery is essential in today’s society; you will have available to you more than 1,000 work experience agreements in centres distributed throughout Catalonia and France and have access to multiple international exchange programmes in centres of reference in the health sector, among many other benefits.

In this same line, the lecturer Rocío Díaz highlights the following: the teaching environment – the Health Campus of the UB with international students and the improvement in language skills of students, ensuring more and better employment opportunities after completing these studies.

Choose teaching quality, learning the latest technological advances applied to physiotherapy; study the Degree in International Physiotherapy  at the best Health Campus, the UB.
