Notable among the teaching staff of the Degree in International Physiotherapy are: Mariano Sánchez Gacto, Director of this Degree served professionally as a Physiotherapist in the Spanish and French Public Healthcare Services for six years. Silvia Xargay, a graduate in biology and with a PhD in Biomedicine “cum laude“, who is currently carrying out post-doctoral studies at the University of Cambridge and collaborating on several national and international projects.
Other members of the teaching staff contributing their global vision to these studies include: Claire Knott, an Australian lecturer with extensive professional experience as a physiotherapist in both public and private hospitals; Andrea Fuente reputed instructor of the Pilates method, in charge of implementing the educational programme entitled Pilates conCiencia that offers specialised seminars both in Spain and abroad, and Anna Prats, Ph.D. in biological sciences, who has participated in 23 international research articles and several conferences, nine of them international and seven national, where she has received several awards. In addition, she has completed two research fellowships, one at the CNRS in Montpellier (France) and the other at the University of Cambridge (United Kingdom).
In this same line, the following lecturers stand out: Francesc Xavier Prat, a graduate in psychology, has participated in a research stay to the University of Cranfield (United Kingdom) and is the author of several studies, published in international journals; Rocío Díaz, a dermatologist, who was awarded a scholarship to visit the XLAB laboratory for young students in Göttingem (Lower Saxony), accompanied by the Nobel Prize winner, Dr. Erwin Neher; also noteworthy is the lecturer Joaquin Chaler, a doctor specialising in physical medicine and rehabilitation, who has participated in 25 research papers at a national and international level, and who has also attended as a speaker in more than 30 conferences specializing in health, as well as being head editor of the journal Isokinetics & Exercise Science.
Lastly, one should mention: Lucy Hackney, graduate in psychology and sociology at the University of Leicester, with extensive experience as a physiotherapist in the British public health system and also in the private sphere; Javier Jerez, wih a PhD in public health from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (Natal, Brazil), also with extensive experience in the public and private health system, and Samuel Young, with a degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Melbourne, specialising in the area of musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy. He has extensive professional experience, having worked in several regional hospitals in Western Australia; he provided primary care to aboriginal communities in Northern Australia and has also worked as a physiotherapist at several clinics and sports clubs in Melbourne, Ireland and the United Kingdom.
