The Degree in International Physiotherapy is the only course entirely in English that combines physiotherapy and technology. These studies were created as a result of the synergies between the two university centres: the School of New Interactive Technologies (Escola de Noves Tecnologies Interactives – ENTI-UB), and the School of Health and Sport (Escola de la Salut i l’Esport – EUSES-UdG), with both centres specialising in its specific field.
Thanks to the coming together of ENTI-UB, the Video Game University and EUSES-UdG, the University of Health and Sport, the students taking this Degree obtain a double value. On the one hand, thanks to the presence of ENTI-UB, you will acquire training at a university that is a pioneer in new technologies. I.e. you will learn to develop assessment tools based on physiotherapy, apply new technological advances, implement Serious Games and gamification as useful tools in the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of an injury, and even create new apps or software that will improve the patients’ daily lives. You will therefore gain an in-depth knowledge of e-health and health 2.0. Without a doubt, the new technologies are essential in order to make current health systems more efficient and sustainable. Therefore these studies will focus on learning healthcare ICT.
On the other hand, EUSES-UdG, a university that has as its main objective the excellence and the quality of its studies, while ensuring the training and the future of its students, contributes its quality know-how in physiotherapy with a sound and permanently updated scientific grounding to the Degree in International Physiotherapy. EUSES offers both the Degree in Physiotherapy and the Degree in Sciences of Physical Activity and Sport. It is therefore a university centre with a consolidated academic and research history in the field of health and sport. Their collaboration makes it possible to share their expert teaching staff, learning techniques and methodologies, establishing rewarding contact networks between the lecturers and the students.
All in all, the course as a whole strives to enhance a quality health care, aimed at personalised attention. In this sense, as a future physiotherapist you will develop skills that will prepare you to assess and carry out treatment plans, evaluating their effectiveness and acting accordingly. In addition, with the plus of the application of the new e-health technologies and a specific training in the English language. This latter aspect will give you a very competitive professional profile, which will improve your access to the jobs market.
In short, the synergies between ENTI-UB and EUSES-UdG result in a quality university training, with the incorporation of the latest technological advances and specialisation in the field of health. Make a commitment to your future by studying the Degree in International Physiotherapy.
