Vinicius Rosa, a lecturer on the Degree in International Physiotherapy, presented the poster “A biomechanical approach of alveolar epithelial cells exposed to iron oxide and titanium dioxide nanoparticles” at the ERS Research Seminar in Berlin.
The European Respiratory Society (ERS) is an international organisation that brings together healthcare professionals, physiotherapists and scientists specialising in respiratory medicine. The ERS is the leading respiratory organisation, with members in more than 160 countries.
The poster addressed the effects of pollution on pulmonary alveolus cells. Dr Vinicius Rosa was able to present the full results of his post-doctoral research project.
“I have had the opportunity to exchange opinions with experts who are working on pollution in a wide range of disciplines” explained Rosa. “The seminars brought together a reduced number (20 to 100) of professionals and young researchers; the perfect size for discussing scientific matters in depth”.
The teaching staff on the Degree in International Physiotherapy are very active in high-level scientific research. For this reason, they frequently participate in congresses, seminars and workshops like this one; ideal activities in which to share knowledge and improve people’s understanding of the world of physiotherapy.
