Silvia García
Teacher

Physiotherapy Diploma, Nursing Diploma, Graduate Certificate Rheumatology Practice, and Master Degree in Nursing Health Science. She has more than 10 years of experience as a Rheumatology Clinical Nurse Specialist at the Moises Broggi Hospital and was nominated as one of the top 20th Healthcare Professionals of the year by the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS) for the Parliament of Westminster on the 1st of November 2006.

In the educational field, she is a collaborative teacher at the Physiotherapy Degree of the 3rd year Degree at the UB-EUSES University and has been a collaborative teacher at the Escoles Universitaries Gimbernat (EUG), Universidad Autonoma Barcelona, rheumatology seminar 2nd year Nursing University Degree (from 2012 until 2020).

As a researcher, she takes part in different national and international projects related to the nursing care in rheumatological patients, such as the ORBITA Project (a training Program in the process of nursing care for patients with Axial Spondyloarthritis and/or Psoriatic Arthritis) or the or the GECOAI  project (comorbidities in Inflammatory Arthritis).

Currently, she is a member of the following working groups:

  • European Nursing Working Group STOPE (Study Group on Patient Education)
  • Nursing Work Group of the Spanish Society of Rheumatology (GTE-SER)
  • Nursing Work Group of the Catalan Society of Rheumatology (InfeReuCat)
  • Nursing Work Group at the Consorci Sanitari Integral (Nursescsi), Complexe Hospitalari Moisès Broggi.
