Since 2018, Dr. Monique Messaggi Sartor is Associate Professor at the Department of Physical Therapy, EUSES University School, University of Girona-University of Barcelona.
She obtained her degree in Physiotherapy at FEEVALE University – Novo Hamburgo (Brazil) in 2008. Right after, she started working as physiotherapist at Santa Casa de Misericordia Hospital in Porto Alegre – Brazil. In 2010 she moved to Barcelona to undergo her post-graduate studies – MsC in Respiratory Medicine at Universitat de Barcelona. Upon completing the MsC, she started her PhD in Biomedicine at Universitat Pompeu i Fabra, obtaining the title of doctor Cum Laude, during the PhD program she went to London at Kng´s College for 3 months to enhance some skills on respiratory muscle assessment.
Since 8 years, she has been working as a researcher at Rehabilitation Research Group, coordinating projects in different areas of Physiotherapy such as Neurology and Cardiorrespiratory. She is al so mentoring FP at Universitat de Barcelona – UAB on the degree of Physiotherapy. She is working with acute geriatric patients at Hospital del Mar and she is one of the physiotherapist of the Prehabilitation team at Hospital Clinic de Barcelona.
